10 Rules of starting to learn guitar
1. You will hit the headstock on random objects/people.
2. At some point you will nearly knock yourself out as you hit yourself in the face with the body of the guitar. FACT
3. Upon starting out as a beginner you’ll get a tab and everything will be easy, and then it throws in a B chord.
4. If it sounds bad, put it on overdrive and no one will notice.
5. When you first break a string it’s as surprising as a heart attack.
6. Changing this string will be THE HARDEST THING YOU EVER HAVE TO DO.
7. People will ask if you play an instrument and you’ll say ‘I play guitar’, but if there’s a guitar present they will almost certainly want you to play it, expecting Hendrix even if you only know basic chords.
8. The amp has too many dials and you’re afraid if you mess with them you’ll never get it to sound right again.
9. NEVER DROP A PLECTRUM ON THE FLOOR - The floor is a black abyss which will mysteriously swallow plectrums and never return them to you.
10. Don’t trust straps, even if they were made out of the toughest material in the world they’d still become disconnected from the guitar and attempt to send it plunging to the ground.
